Recently, 2PM’s member, Nichkhun cause an accident by hitting a motorcycle while driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to a report from the Gangnam Police Station on July 24, Nichkhun ran into a motorcycle that was entering an intersection from his right while he was driving his Volkswagen at around 2:45 a.m. on July 24.
Because of this accident, the motorcycle rider, a Mr. Park, was injured and taken to the Konkuk University Medical Center. It’s been revealed that Nichkhun was driving with a blood alcohol-content level of 0.056%, which could lead to the revocation of his driver’s license.
According to the police, Nichkhun decided to deal with the motorcycle rider through insurance and was sent home after a two-hour investigation. At the investigation, Nichkhun admitted that he had been drinking and regretted his wrongdoing.
A witness at the scene who also followed the motorcyclist to the hospital reported, “The victim was on the floor, bleeding from his head. An ambulance rushed him to the emergency room at Konkuk University Hospital.” He continued, “At the moment, he’s expressing severe pain in his shoulders and in his back.”
Currently, this statement and the level of injury has not been officially confirmed.
According to kpopstarz, the accident happened in a residential neighborhood and official believe that the biker cannot have been 100% at fault. This is why Nichkhun will not only be prosecuted for his drinking and driving but also injuring another person as a result of his DUI. This could result in an increase in his sentence to up to 5 years or 20,000,000 Won worth of fines.
But, from now, many fans are speculating about what happened to Nichkhun. Meanwhile, due to the accident, Nichkhun figure has been cut-out from the Cabi land homepage, leave only 5 members and Suzy.
JYP Entertainment, Nichkhun’s agency, says, “After practicing for a JYP concert, Nichkhun had dinner with all the artists from JYP and drank about two glasses of beer. He got into the accident while he was driving back to his place after that. Both Nichkhun and we admit that it happened from carelessness and we apologize for that. If a further investigation is needed, we’ll fully cooperate.”
Nichkhun, who is from Thailand, can speak the Korean language well but is still weak with writing official statements. On his statement, he simply wrote, “I apologize” in Korean and there was nothing written on his social media networks as well.
